11-08-24 Release

This expanded vinyl edition of Talking Heads' '77 features a new remaster of the original album, plus another album of demos and rarities, including a version of "Psycho Killer", featuring legendary NYC musician Arthur Russell. Originally released on September 16, 1977. It cemented the classic lineup as Weymouth, Byrne, and Frantz and also welcomed Harrison to the fold during its creation.

'77 remains entrenched in popular culture as one of the most influential American records ever made. Its impact on indie, alternative, new wave, and art rock proves palpable to this day. In a retrospective review Pitchfork put it best, “In 1977, they didn’t need to rush towards the future. They were already there.” The record paved the way for a legendary four-album suite of masterpieces that includes More Songs About Buildings and Food [1978], Fear of Music [1979], and Remain In Light [1980].

Exclusive NEON GREEN double vinyl produced by Rhino Records for Sire Records in 2024. Gatefold sleeve.
